Having become a symbol of the contradictions between the USSR and the USA, Checkpoint Charlie became the most famous Berlin checkpoint.nAt checkpoint C unfolded dramatic events associated with attempts to escape from the DDR to West Berlin. The checkpoint was solemnly closed on June 22, 1990, when the process of reunification of the DDR and the FRG was already in full swing.nThe Berlin Wall Museum at Checkpoint Charlie talks about the Cold War, the totalitarian regime of the DDR and the attempts of the East Germans to flee from the GDR to the Federal Republic of Germany.
