The temple is a complex of two churches, one on top of the other, as well as the Hermitage built back in 1886, which marks the highest point of Tibidabo before the start of any construction. On September 29, 1961, Pope John XXIII awarded the title of the Little Basilica to the Temple of the Sacred Heart. From the top area one of the best panoramic views of Barcelona and the surrounding area opens.
