It has an area of 70,000 m2 and is the oldest amusement park in Spain, the second one built in Europe and one of the oldest in the world (opened in 1899). Most of the original rides, some of which date to the turn of the 20th century, are still in use. A popular ride at the park is the 1928 Avió airplane ride, a single-car carousel giving the impression of flight above the city, a novelty at the time.
