Description

The fountain of fairy tales is one of the most interesting examples of the city fountains of Berlin, which belong to the protected monuments of architecture. At the end of the 19th century, the city authorities of Berlin decided to artistically design the entrance to the Friedrichshain People’s Park. Four years (1901-1905) went to the development of the project and its architectural planning. During the Second World War, and especially during the battles for Berlin in 1945, the park and the fountain of fairy tales were significantly destroyed. After the unification of Germany in the 1990s, vandalism in the park became a constant problem. The overhaul, corresponding to the transformation in the country, began in 2005.
