Description

Molecule Man is a work of monumental art, erected in Berlin in May 1999 by American sculptor Jonathan Borofsky on the Spree River. The sculpture is a composition of three male silhouettes of 30 m high aluminum, facing each other and symbolizing the unity of the three Kreuzberg, Treptow and Friedrichshain constituencies reorganized in 2001.nThe bodies of the three figures pierce round holes, which should mean that a person consists of molecules. According to the artist, this should remind that “both man and molecule exist in the world of probabilities, and the goal of all creative and spiritual traditions is to search for integrity and unity in the world.”
