The museum opened its doors to visitors in June 1998, and since that time it has gained popularity among fans of military history. The museum is located in the building of the Officers’ House (architectural monument), designed by architect Karakis in 1931–1932. nThe National Military History Museum of Ukraine is engaged in publishing and is the founder of the Military Historical Almanac, the only periodical in Ukraine that thoroughly covers military events of the past, publishes memoirs of famous military figures and scientific works of military heritage researchers.
