The oak of Yakov Novitsky

The oak of Yakiv Novitsky was planted in the late 19th century by one of the most respected personalities of Olexandrivsk – Yakiv Pavlovich Novitsky, a famous historian.nThis oak is one of the three that Yakiv Novitsky landed in his yard. Yakiv Novitsky researched Khortytsia, Velykiy Lug, the ruins of all Zaporizhzhia Sichs, closely cooperated with Dmytro Yavornytsky. Yakiv Novitsky died on May 19, 1925 since then the miraculously survived oak reminds residents of the city about the «father» of Zaporizhzhia history.
