Description

“Vertical Forest” – a residential complex of two towers with a height of 110 and 76 meters. Two skyscrapers were built in the Milan district of Port Nuova in 2009-2014. The peculiarity of the project lies in the fact that there are green plantings on the terraces surrounding each of the floors: about 900 trees, 5000 shrubs and 11 thousand grass paths are planted here.nVertical forest increases biodiversity. This contributes to the formation of an urban ecosystem, where various plant species create a vertically directed environment that can be populated by birds and insects.nVertical forest helps to create the necessary microclimate and filter small particles of dust contained in the urban air.nTwo Bosco Verticale towers were recognized as the best skyscrapers of 2014, receiving the International Highrise Award, awarded every two years to the Museum of Architecture in Frankfurt.
