In the confines of the interior of China, a life-size replica of the Titanic begins to take shape to receive tourist in a theme park, called ‘Titanicland’, which will be dedicated to the mythical transatlantic.
In the city of Suining, located in the southwest of that country, four cranes rise around an immense dry cellar, next to a river. A swarm of workers is activated around the hull of the giant ship. From the work will come a gigantic replica of the Titanic, the famous ship that was shipwrecked more than a century ago in the Atlantic Oceancausing the death of more than 1,500 passengers and crew members.

In statements to the news agency ‘AFP’, Shaojun, Chinese businessman and promoter of this initiative commented: “It’s a very complicated project, because we built a ship as big as an aircraft carrier (…) For the opening ceremony we would like to invite Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio), Rose (Kate Winslet) and James Cameron (director of the film)”.
Su Shaojun is a Chinese businessman who is in charge of this project that seeks to emulate the Titanic.
It should be noted that the value of this project is 10 billion yuan (about 1,450 million dollars) and its inauguration is scheduled for the end of this year.
In addition, to build this replica of the mythical ship, which measures 260 meters in length, it took six years (twice the time it took to build the real Titanic). Also, more than a hundred workers were employed and 23 thousand tons of Steel were used.
More than 100 workers were employed to build the replica of the Titanic.
From the dining room to the luxury cabins, passing through the doorknobs, they were built like the original and, to top it all off, a real steam engine was built that will give visitors the impression of really being at sea.
For people interested in spending a night on this ‘cruise’, the price of the evening will be $ 310 (a little over a million pesos).
But the experience does not end here, because before getting on the boat tourists will cross the park in minibus accompanied by the mythical soundtrack of the film.
It is expected that the inauguration of the replica of the Titanic will be by the end of this year.
