Only a lucky one could live this adventure valued at 45 million euros the mission, organized by Axiom Space, is scheduled for 2023 and will last ten days. “Space hero tries to open space to everyone, not just astronauts and billionaires“, explained Martin Pompadur, president of the project.

At the moment, Nasa has shown interest since it has signed a cooperation agreement and information exchange with producers who will begin to elect candidates in the coming months.

A worldwide casting

The 24 contestants will live in a “space village” during the program and undergo extensive training testing their physical and mental strength. The viewers will be able to follow everything live. Space Hero is planning 15 seasons over the next 30 years and taking the winners to destinations like Mars and the Moon. The opportunities, however remote, for the common of mortals to put themselves in the shoes of an astronaut were unthinkable until very recently, but in recent months several initiatives have emerged.

One of them is planned for this same year, when the company SpaceX of the billionaire Elon Musk launches the first mission to space entirely civilian, a milestone of private space tourism. Aboard the Dragon ship, four crew members will travel around the Earth in the mission that has been dubbed Inspiration4.

The other is the adventure of Japanese millionaire Yusaku Maezawa who will select eight space tourists to accompany him for free to the Moon. This six-day trip also aboard a SpaceX ship is scheduled for 2023, the same year as the Space Hero winner’s prize.
