The City Council presents the Strategic Tourism Plan 2020-2023 with the main objective of the development of the neighborhoods of Madrid

“I think every neighborhood has its own personality. Everyone has pride in belonging to them. We want to work those strengths and souls of each of the neighborhoods and make them attractive to tourists, because they are”. As expressed Friday morning the tourism delegate, Almudena Mallo, that the Madrid City Council work to get tourists out of the most usual places in the city center and visit the outskirts. To do this, Mallo proposes “designing specific routes through all neighborhoods that have something to teach”.

Accompanied by director of Tourism, Hctor Coronel, the delegate explained that the Strategic Tourism Plan of the city of Madrid bet on the revitalization of gastronomy, heritage, culture and craft in Madrid throughout the city. “Madrid has a very attractive offer. At the moment, the City Council of Madrid is working to provide a new brand to the city as a tourist destination and economic recovery mechanism. “We are confident that tourism will be the biggest economic engine of recovery. We are going to show that Madrid is the capital of the tourist sector”, concludes Almudena Mallo.
