The Palace and Ritz hotels have been two inseparable Legends of Hotel Luxury in Madrid. The Paseo del Prado has structured these two temples of opulence since their construction, promoted in both cases by Alfonso XIII. The Ritz opened its doors in 1910, at the request of the monarch, who wanted the capital of Spain to have a unique place in which to accommodate illustrious visitors. Thus, part of the financing came from the royal coffers. The Palace opens just two years later
