Santa Marta is ready to boost tourism again
The Mid-Year holiday season is approaching and travel agencies are already beginning to register increases in reservations to cities such as Santa Marta, which is a preferred destination for its offer of sun, beaches and rivers.
The capital of Magdalena stands out in the top 5 of the favorites for tourists looking for nature, gastronomy, history and sea.
The ladder is completed by destinations such as Cartagena, San Andrés, Bogota and Medellin, as pointed out by platforms like Take Off and travel.
The Santa Marta District Mayor’s office, in coordination with the Tourism Institute, and guilds, after two months of paralysis of activities due to the high peak of the pandemic, again began the preparation to safely reactivate the tourism sector, one of the pillars of the local economy.

Curfew
Although the city still does not manage to completely overcome the wave of contagion, the mayor of Santa Marta, Virna Johnson said that it is necessary to reopen the city for tourism because of the serious consequences that are generating the restrictions on hotels, Commerce and tourism in general.
After meeting with the different economic guilds, the president announced that she will request the Ministry of the Interior so that from next week the curfew begins from 11: 00 p.m., to increase the social and economic activity in the city.
“This request will be made with the commitment of the unions to extreme biosecurity measures and their respective controls,” said the governor.
He also specified that the measures taken in recent months have been in compliance with the Joint circular of the national government for cities with ICU occupancy greater than 85%.
