“Italy is a country of old people!”
How many times have we heard this sentence? Maybe we too have thought or said it over and over again. But what does it really mean? Why think that’s such a bad thing to say?
Europe is a continent made up (to date) of 27 countries that make up the European Union, but what are the factors that define the average age of each country?
Surely the most “economically” healthy countries have citizens who add an extra candle to the cake every year: medical care best, healthier food and ability to do sport (both at a climatic and territorial level but also at an economic level) are the basis of longevity.
As you will notice in the rankings below, based on the Human Development Report of the UNPD of 2019, Italy is always among the top two in the ranking, both for total life expectancy and divided by gender.
