Description

The house of Maria Elizabeth Lüders is located in the government quarter of Berlin, in the Federal Strip complex. The building received its name in honor of the liberal politician and representative of the women’s movement in Germany, Maria Elizabeth Lüders. The western rotunda of the building houses the scientific service center of the German Bundestag, which includes, inter alia, a large library, the third largest in the world’s parliamentary libraries, an archive of original sources on the history of the Bundestag and the Federal Republic of Germany, and press documentation. Under the information and consultation level of the library rotunda, a part of the Berlin Wall is preserved in an empty space.
