Description

The house of Paul Löbe is an auxiliary building of the German parliament in the government quarter of Berlin. It bears the name of the former Reichstag President Paul Löbe. The house of Paul Löbe and the House of Mary Elizabeth Lüders, connected by a bridge, form an integral whole in architectural terms. The architect calls the bridge “jump over the Spree.” He is very symbolic of connecting buildings from east to west as opposed to the idea of the architects of national socialism, the Capital of the World of Germany with its North-South axis. It is designed to accommodate the functional units of the German Parliament, which, in order to maintain the effectiveness of the activities of the parliament, must be located in the immediate vicinity of the Reichstag.
