Joan Miro Foundation – Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona. Opened on June 10, 1975.nThe museum building of Joan Miró is located high on the hillside of Montjuic, behind the National Palace, which houses the National Museum of Art of Catalonia. The museum’s collection is diverse, reflecting various aspects of the artist’s work. In the multi-level premises there are 300 paintings, 150 sculptures, 9 textile works and more than 8000 drawings, including both early works and well-known works that fully represent Miro’s brightly individual style.nOn the ground floor, exhibitions of works by contemporary artists are held, and an impressive view of Barcelona opens from the terrace of the second floor.
