Description

Murat Pasha Mosque appeared on the ruins of the old world. This happened at a time when new buildings began to be erected intensively on the territory of the Ottoman Empire. Scientists believe that the building was built in 1571. For a long time the name of the mosque sounded like the mosque of the Great Vizier Murat Pasha. The confusion was due to the historian Evliya Celebi, who, during a visit to the mosque, mistook Lord Karaman for the vizier of the city. Since then, this name has taken root. Subsequently, the error was nevertheless corrected by historians, and the mosque was returned to its former real name.
