The House of World Cultures was founded in 1989; located in the Tiergarten district of Berlin in the Congress Hall, built in 1957-1958. It is one of 16 “culture beacons” financed by the German federal government.nThe House of World Cultures hosts exhibitions, film screenings, musical concerts, dance and theatrical performances by artists from various countries of Asia and Africa, South America. Events are divided into several areas: visual arts, cinema, media; dance, theater, music; literature, society, science.nIn 2002–2005 and 2008, the annual Transmediale Arts and Digital Culture Festival was held here.
