The Community of Madrid offer cheques of up to 50% discount per person in the second half of the year
Guided tours, sports activities, health and wellness services, tourist accommodation… These are the activities subject to discount what the Community of Madrid for the national tourists to visit the region from second semester of the year. The regional government will make available to travelers tourist bonds with discounts up to 50%, which translates into 600 euros per person. The recipients of this offer will be tourists from the country who choose hotel accommodation or travel agencies of the region.
Through this initiative, each person will be able to request one bonus per month, during the term of the program, and will have a within 10 days from the download of the same to redeem it. Another advantage of this proposal is that the payment of amounts to establishments and travel agencies will be made within a month, in order to avoid damage to these. Taking into account that most of them are SMEs, they will have to finance the bonds, as happens in other autonomous regions.
The Community of Madrid present in FITUR measures like this, born with the aim of recovering the tourist impulse of the region after the pandemic. Another of its proposals is the new brand and concept of regin turstica internacional Greater Madrid, whose objective is that international visitors understand clearly what the tourist offer of the community as a whole, beyond the city of Madrid: its geographical environment, its cultural and natural heritage, as well as all the quality tourist products available.
Within this strategy to seek new markets, the regional executive also promote Destination Weddings, which proposes to position Madrid as a luxury destination and European leader in the organization of weddings. This program is especially aimed at the North American market and refers to weddings held away from the couple’s residence.
NEW WEB PORTAL OF TOURISM AND OTHER CAMPAIGNS
Taking advantage of the celebration of FITUR, in which the Community is the main sponsor, the regional Government will also present the new tourism web portal, which improves the user experience, so that they find more easily what they are looking for and spend more time on the page; accessibility for people with functional diversity; positioning in the main search engines, and the navigability of the page.
Likewise, the Community of Madrid is developing other actions to enhance the region as a tourist attraction, such as Together for flamenco, with an extensive program of theater, dance and exhibitions. It is an action of tourist and cultural promotion that puts in value the art of flamenco through the tablaos of Madrid and that also have thematic tourist routes through the flamenco Madrid.
Also, during this month of May, the Community is committed to nearby tourism with the special Spring edition of the concert series Session Verm, with 104 recitals of 53 bands in 17 municipalities of the region. The stage of these concerts are the squares, corners and spaces of municipalities such as Bustarviejo, Chinchn, Colmenar de Oreja, Lozoya, Pelayos de la Presa, Villarejo de Salvans, Alcal de Henares, Alcobendas or Aranjuez.
Tourism represents the 7% of Madrid’s GDP and in 2019 alone the region received more than 7.6 million foreign tourists. The occupation of rural accommodation in the Sierra Norte Madrilea has been around an average of between 80% and 90% during the last weekends, and the sector foresees that this trend continues almost completely. In addition, 63% of the hotels in the Community of Madrid are already open today.
