The Berlin Painting Gallery is a famous art gallery in the State Museums of Berlin and the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, one of Europe’s leading art museums, located in the Berlin Culture Forum west of Potsdamer Platz and featuring a magnificent collection of canvases from the 13th — 18th centuries. The collection of the gallery contains recognized masterpieces of world painting by such masters as: Albrecht Durer, Lukas Cranach the Elder, Botticelli, Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio, Bosch, Bruegel, Peter Paul Rubens and Rembrandt. Opened in 1830 and reconstructed in 1998. The art gallery currently houses more than 3,500 paintings and 3,000 original picture frames, currently divided into ten divisions.
